How to Clean a Bathroom -- You Know You Gotta Do It

The bathroom always seems like a daunting task, but think of it this way: the surfaces in your bathroom are mostly smooth and therefore can actually be easier to clean. Here are some bathroom cleaning tips to ensure a speedy and successful clean.
Pick a corner of the bathroom. Most bathrooms are small enough that you can put all your supplies near the middle of the room and work your way around the room without ever having to move all of your things, until you get to the floor cleaning.
Get everything you can out of the bathroom area. This includes rugs and mats, towels and laundry, and the trash can, with all the trash in it.
The Tub/Shower:
Move all items (shampoo, conditioner, soap, toys,) onto the floor just outside the tub.
Start the furthest away from the drain so eventually all the muck is going down and towards the drain. This means at the top of the opposite wall.
Squirt your preferred tile cleaner onto the walls and inside of the shower door.
Be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions on the label of whatever cleaner you have chosen. Most tile cleaners work by letting the chemicals sit, not immediately scrubbing. After you let it set (for the bottle's recommended time) scrub with a tile brush to get deep into the grout. Use a toothbrush on smaller spots like the soap dish and faucet.
If you have a shower door, apply some tile cleaner to it, but use a sponge or cloth to clean, not the brush. If you have a shower curtain throw it into the washing machine or replace it.
Wet the tub, sprinkle the powder cleaner, and scrub the tub with your tile brush.
After the whole tub is bubbling you may rinse everything. Turn the shower on to cold. Rinse all of the top and work your way down and towards the drain, just like when you were applying the cleaner.
The toilet:
Be sure to read the instructions on your toilet bowl cleaner. Apply the cleaner, let sit, and then scrub. Start at the top (upper rim) and work your way down.
The outside of the toilet should be cleaned with all purpose liquid cleaner. Make sure to get into all the crannies and work your way from top to bottom.
The sink:
Remove items from the sink area and place them close by. Wet the bowl of the sink and use powdered cleanser (only on the bowl of the sink!) Scrub and rinse. Use all purpose liquid cleaner to clean the outside of the sink and all of it's parts. Use the toothbrush to scrub tricky spots. Wipe clean.
Mirrors:
Use your glass cleaner. Spray lightly and evenly. Wipe completely dry to eliminate streaks. Use a circular motion and a cloth instead of a paper towel.
There are cheaper solutions you can look into with vinegar if you aren't interested in purchasing glass cleaner.
Don't forget these tricky bathroom spots:
-The medicine cabinet
-The towel rack
-Faucets in the shower and sink
-BEHIND the sink faucet
-Dusting any fans or vents in the room.
-The base of the toilet (try to get this with all purpose liquid cleaner when you're cleaning the rest of the outside of the toilet)
-The outside of the shower door
Lastly, we have the floor. Remove your supplies and replace items that belong in the shower or on the sink. First sweep the floors and don't forget to target dust that may have gathered in the corners. Then spray floor cleaner or the same all purpose liquid cleaner you've been using in the farthest corner from the room and wipe with clean dry cloths. Keep doing this until you've backed yourself out of the bathroom. The other option is to use a mop and the liquid cleaner in a similar manner, backing yourself out of the room.
When you're done in the bathroom deal with the items outside the doorway. Take out the trash. Throw the towels and laundry into the washer. Vacuum the rug and replace it in the room after the floor has dried. For extra speed you can wait until you are vacuuming the hallway you placed the rug in - vacuum and replace it then. You can also wait for all the trash cans and laundry to be throw outside all the doorways and gather it all at the same time.
